How can I get to "Warn Me When Websites Try to Redirect or Reload the Page"?

more options

How can I allow selected site to be able to redirect me to other sites, automatically or by warning me, so I can select Allow? As I use the Defense Discount Services site, as I am a veteran. But can't see any of their companies offers, as it redirects me to the company's site I have selected, e.g. Nissan.

I have Firefox Quantum 57.0.1 (64-bit).

Searching on the web, it suggests selecting "Tool", "Options", "Advanced". But I don't see an "Advanced" option.

Kind regards, Ian

Does it work now? If not try setting that to false instead.

Should be under here: type in your URL Bar: about:preferences#privacy

Thank you MkII, it takes me to the same place as "Tools", "Option", "Privacy & Security".

I can't find any options, to allow websites to redirect me, or warn me of the redirect, so I can select Allow.

Thank you, Ian

I don't think is possible, but you can try an ad-blocker so you don't get redirected automatically: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/

Also see this add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/open-link-directly-no-redirect/

My problem is that as a UK veteran, I am a member of Defense Discount Services, whose website redirects you to the company you select's website, to see their offers.

Thanks for serving your country Ian, I'll try to find someone who can help you further -- it sounds like you want to do something that's not immediately available.

Hello I've found the solution -- go to about:config by typing it in your URL bar then search for accessibility.blockautorefresh in the search bar above the prefs. Then double click it to set it to true. Restart Firefox.

Did this solve your problem? If it did mark this reply as the solution.

Cheers MkII, Did what you suggested. From the list, accessibility.blockautorefresh, was already set to true, in the table.

Yep, setting it as False, sorted it out.

Thank you very much.

Just to summarize all the steps for people who are less familiar:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste access and pause while the list is filtered

(3) TO TURN OFF: If the accessibility.blockautorefresh preference is bolded and "modified" or "user set" to true, double-click it to restore the default value of false
