The new version will not allow me to access any of the buttons or menu on the toolbar. I get a "not responding" message. How do I fix this?
For the last few days, I keep getting a "not responding" message when trying to access the menu or any other items on the toolbar. Sometimes the item will appear briefly grayed out then disappear. Eventually I'll be able to browse again but never get access to the toolbar items. I've also lost all my pinned tabs. I've restarting my computer and refreshing Firefox but nothing seems to help. I'm about ready to go back to IE if I can't get this solved today....

could you go to the firefox menu ≡ > help ? > troubleshooting information page and take a look in the Accessibility section if accessibility is set to "true" there.
if yes, can you please copy & paste this whole section into a reply in the forum and see if the following fixes the performance problem: go to the firefox menu ≡ > options > privacy & security panel and under permissions check the setting to prevent accessibility services from accessing your browser.

No. That's my problem. I can't that menu to appear.
Try a refresh:
1. Type about:support in your URL bar and press enter. 2. Click on Refresh Firefox 3. It'll restart -- if you can access the menus great!
To restore the data: 1. Navigate to about:profiles, and click on Open Folder under the one local directory. 2. Open the 'Old Firefox Data' folder on your desktop. 3. Copy all the data from OFD into the new profile folder and restart FF.
Already tried a refresh but tried it again but it didn't help. I still have the same problem.
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a Clean reinstall. This means you remove your Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. This process does not remove your Firefox profile data (such as bookmarks and passwords), since that information is stored in a different location.
To do a clean reinstall of Firefox, please follow these steps: Note: You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
- Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from mozilla.org (or choose the download for your operating system and language from this page) and save the setup file to your computer.
- After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (or open the Firefox menu
and click the close button

- Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
- Windows:
- C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
- Mac: Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
- Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Install Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
- Windows:
- Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
- Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
- Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.

I also tried starting Firefox in safe mode but got the same result/problem.

If you cannot do this through the interface, there is a way to do it on disk.
(1) Make sure Firefox is closed
(2) Type or paste the following into the Windows Run dialog or the Start menu search box and press Enter to launch Windows Explorer into this folder:
%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
In that folder, do you see a semi-randomly-named folder? If so, click into it. If you find multiple such folders, find the one that was most recently updated.
(3) Open the prefs.js file for editing
Please do not double-click .js files. Either right-click > Edit or right-click > Open With to view and edit its contents. Notepad will do.
(4) Paste this new preference on its own line at the end of the file, and then save the change (keeping the file in plain text format, without changing its name

When you start Firefox up the next time, the "Prevent accessibility services from accessing your browser" setting on the Options page, Privacy & Security panel, Permissions section, should be turned on.

I was able to get the menu bar open at the top of the Window now but still having the same problem.
