Key icon is missing an none of forum suggestions help me find it
I have read the key icon missing posts and I don't see an answer to why my key icon is missing. I understand that the icon only appears when I visit a website the requires a password and it is not already listed as one I wish to have saved. Previously, maybe a couple of month ago, Foxfire was auto suggesting my email address in user info for Facebook so I could just click on that suggestion instead of having to type it in each time I access that web site. Then that service disappeared. Because I don't like a lot of computer guessing what I am trying to type elsewhere, I may have clicked on something that prevents that service. But I wouldn't know where to look. As for remembering the password, I don't think I've ever accessed that service. Please tell me if possible where I can go, which button I have to click, so that I can get a few web sites I access, ones that require user names and passwords in which I have no privacy concerns, to provide auto input for user name and password. Thanks

Hi !
Would you please check this setting :
Options => Privacy & Security => under 'Forms & Passwords' : Make sure that 'Remember logins and passwords for websites' is checked.
When that is checked, you should see the key symbols/icons .....
Also make sure you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode (Always use Private Browsing mode; Never Remember History).
To see all History and Cookie settings, choose:
- Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
