You should see a section entitled Permissions if you type about:preferences#privacy into the address bar that should allow you to change those settings.

Thanks Seburo but that's what I did but unfortunately it doesn't allow you to turn them off or do anything with the settings. When you click on 'settings' you can't turn these functions off. It just allows you to see the parties that have access but I want to be able to proactively switch these things off and stop websites from accessing my camera, microphone and location in the first place

I am using hangouts.google.com the video works but the microphone is turned off; how do i turn it on? Please help
