Let me start by saying that as far as I know, there's no connection between Wikileaks and Wikipedia.

Thank you for sharing the certificate that Firefox objects to. It indicate that it was issued by:

Name: erisimengellisayfa Organization: Bilgi Teknolojileri ve Iletisim Kurumu, ANKARA, TR

That could be a filter arranged by your internet service provider.

Sometimes when a site loads in Chrome and IE but not in Firefox, it is because the "man in the middle" has become trusted by Windows but is not trusted in Firefox's separate certificate store.

To see whether that is the case, if you connect to Wikipedia using Chrome or IE and look at the certificate issuer, is it the same agency or is it "GlobalSign Organization Validation CA - SHA256 - G2" (the one I see when I access the site from California)?

ok that would make sense as I am currently in turkey and they have blocked wikipedia and wiki leaks, it doesn't explain why chrome works. I use a VPN that is situated in the UK

I have just checked MS edge and that also says it is insecure, it's just chrome that allows it. I cant see how to check edges certificate

it does say

Your PC doesn’t trust this website’s security certificate. The hostname in the website’s security certificate differs from the website you are trying to visit. Error Code: DLG_FLAGS_INVALID_CA DLG_FLAGS_SEC_CERT_CN_INVALID Because this site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security, you cannot continue to this site at this time.

Are you sure Firefox and Edge are using that VPN? I suspect they are not. You can compare your IP address using my page here (or many other sites):

I don't have Windows 10 handy, but maybe someone else knows.

checked the page and the IP is 172.111.153.142 this shows as being located in the UK.

I have been in touch with my vpn provider and they have a firefox addon which allows access to wikipedia, although their app which I have been using doesn't. So I guess it is a workaround for the problem . thanks for your input.
