After importing my outlook.pst to import outlook local folder in thunderbird, I have this "&nbsp" html codes in the message body of the imported outlook mails.

Another problem is '???' appeared whenever there is an animation in the incoming email message.

Appreciate for your help. Thank you.

What encoding are you using for incoming and outgoing mail?

1.'Menu icon' > 'Options' > Display' > Formatting' tab click on 'Advanced' button see image below as guide.

post image of your 'Fonts & Encodings' window.

2. Select an email Menu icon > View > Text Encoding What is currently selected?

3. Select email so it is visible in Message Pane click on 'More' and select 'View Source'. A window opens showing source code of email. Locate the following sections and post what you see in that email. these are examples, what you see may be slightly different.

  • MIME-Version: 1.0
  • Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8"
  • Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
  • MIME-Version: 1.0
  • Content-Type: text/html; charset="utf-8"

Dear Sir,

It is working fine for the incoming emails now. But the problem still persists on those email which were imported from outlook 2007. Thank you so much for your assistance.

I could do with some information.

  • Select an email which was imported from outlook 2007
  • Menu icon > View > Text Encoding
  • What is currently selected?
  • click on 'More' and select 'View Source'.

Post what you see for :

  • 'Content-Type: ' and 'Content-Transfer-Encoding:'

so we can an example of what is in the email source.
