Hello,

I receive this restart message multiple times now.

But there was no firefox update. All package updates are handled by the ubuntu apt manager and apt did not update firefox and it was not an unattended-upgrade from the system.

What update is it? It is worrying me.

If you have a Firefox version from the Ubuntu repositories then Firefox can't update and will fail when it tries to. Firefox releases may check for updates and you can only disable downloading an update. So maybe check the update setting in Options/Preferences.

@cor-el

Thanks. At "about:preferences", under "Firefox Updates" is only a checkbox for "Automatically update search engines" .

I think there is not even an option to activate firefox updates.

FF is not updated by the package management, this is worrying me. Any ideas?

Firefox 64.0 is current, so if you have this version like the selected suggests then there shouldn't be updates offered. Maybe take this to the Ubuntu support forum because this happens with their version.
