Having Problems with Dropdown Menu on a particular site.

I'm having problems with my dropdown notification and profile menus at this particular site:

https://splinternews.com/

The problem only started after the patch for v.66. The problem is that when I navigate to the site, the dropdown menus - which you get by clicking on the numbered icon or profile icon in the top right of your page after you log in - work sometimes and other times you can't. I makes the site mostly unusuable since you can't see your notifications. It's kind of a crap-shoot. I thought messing around with and toggling on and off "Performance" standards might work, and it appears that it does change things for a minute or two, but then it ceases to matter.

Do I need to downgrade? Where is the downgrade page?

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/update-firefox-latest-version?cache=no Did you update Firefox to the latest version 66.0.1 March 22, 2019

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Did this help?

While you are in safe mode;

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

Okay, a few things before I try the ubiquitous "Did you try it in safe mode" copy-and-pasted response:

- I said that after the patch to version 66...which would mean I'm talking about 66.0.1

- Then, I also said I messed around with performance in "options," turning on and off hardware acceleration.

I need to know where to get a downgraded version. I'm not sure how I'll be able to tell if things work or not in safe mode, as the dropdown is sometimes working and sometimes not. Did you go the site I posted? In any case, this all started happening when I "upgraded" to 66.0.1 from 66, the other day.

Note: Some versions of Quantum change how the data files are set up, so they are not backward compatible.

Install Older Version Of Firefox {web link} Be sure to read everything here.

If you still want to downgrade, look under; I still want to downgrade. Click the Directory of other versions and languages link. Look for the directory of the version that you want. But, remember that old versions may have security issues.

I'm testing this in Safe Mode, now. The drop-down seems to work and everything is moving much faster.

If Safe Mode, it appears "Use recommended performance settings" and "Use hardware acceleration when available" are both turned off by default. But, again, I'm messed around with this in regular mode and it doesn't seem to make much a difference.

My Plugins are:

OpenH264 Video Codec provided by Cisco Systems, Inc Widevine Content Decryption Module provided by Google Inc. Shockwave Flash

My Extensions are:

Yahoo Search

It seems the extension is turned off. Is it possible the extension is the problem and not compatible with the latest version? If so, is there a newer version?

Give it a day or so with Yahoo disabled. If the problem is gone, contact its support.

Didn't even need a day. I disabled the extension in regular mode, and things seemed to work for a few hours, and now it's back to not showing the dropdown menu when I click on it. It doesn't seem to be that extension causing the issue.

As for the plugin is, I don't imagine it's "OpenH264 Video Codec provided by Cisco Systems, Inc," as this one is said to come with Firefox and is downloaded automatically. It's also not the Shockwave Flash Player, as I only have that set to "ask to activate" and I rarely use it. That leaves only "Widevine Content Decryption Module provided by Google Inc.," but I don't imagine this is it either. Could it be that plugin do you think?

It seems it's more something to do with v.66.0.1. itself since this was all working fine immediately before that update for this site. Another thing is that may be helpful to add is that this version of Firefox doesn't seem to be consistently loading the graphics right for the site I posted above.

I called for more help. The only way to find out if something is causing an issue is to disable/remove it.

I saw a Drop-Down Menu that didn't work for me at first, but then it did AFTER the page was fully loaded. (Media)
