The Master pasword is not working properly
Ever since Firefox version 57, I have noticed that the feature to set master password hasn't been working correctly. It enables you to set a password but when i close down the Firefox the popup that ask you to enter the password never pops up and Firefox opens enabling the user to see the passwords as if i never entered a master password.
I have upgraded to Firefox 66.0.3 and still I never do get a popup to enter my password. This problem seem to be effecting version 57+ and above as it works fine in version 56.0. The master password also isn't working in the latest version of Firefox in Linux mint. I seen others post a similar problem but nobody has address the issue.

Note that older Firefox versions used key3.db (DBM) as the key file that stores the master password. Current Firefox releases use key4.db (SQLite) as the key file, so it sounds that key4.db got created without the MP. Try to rename key4.db to key4OLD.db to make Firefox create a new key4.db key file that hopefully works better.
You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:preferences page.

There's a fix on the Master Password in the latest FF 66.0.5 release:
