Since yesterday, I cannot use the mouse wheel to scroll up or down on any web page. It's really annoying, as it works on all other software on the same computer. Already tried some solutions suggested online, nothing worked. I did not recently add any extensions nor changed any settings. Worked fine for years, now suddenly it refuses to scroll with the mouse wheel

Do you have a touch screen or have a laptop with a touch pad?

Check that you run Firefox in desktop mode and not in tablet mode.

Make sure all of your software is up to date.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

I am using a Logitech M720 Triathlon. It has been working fine for months, including in Firefox, but since two days, no longer. No software update in this time frame.

Just tested Google Chrome and scrolling also does not work there. Works in every other type of software, but none of the two browsers.
