How to Restore Firefox Bookmarks after upgrading MacBook from Mohave to Catalina 10.15.5

I upgraded my macbook from Mojave to Catalina and all the Firefox Bookmarks disappeared. I then found a folder on the desktop labeled Old Firefox Data and I tried to restore by going to bookmarks, show all bookmarks, restore, choose file, and then adding in the bookmark backup file from the folder on the desktop (ends in jsonlz4). Unfortunately this didn't work. I would appreciate help....I have alot of bookmarks! Thank you!

-- did Firefox give you an error message? Or did it just seem to run forever without adding anything? How many items were in the backup file? That's usually coded into the name after the date. In this example, 521 bookmarks + folders + separators:

bookmarks-2020-05-24_521_gibberish==.jsonlz4
