(Maybe it is me - it usually is)

I have saved logins saved in FF. There is also a master password.

This problem is happening more and more:

I load FF and no "Enter master password" requester.

I start browsing. Eventually I get to a site which requires a log in.

NOTHING!

So I know FF has it saved - and password protected - but FF has decided to not ask me for the master password so I (or it) can then enter the saved details.

Today - being the last straw - I come here and (of course) this saved log in wasn't accessible. I fell back on the secondary system and logged in. FF asks me if I want to save this log in. (Maybe luckily) I said YES - but I am sure it is already saved - do I then get the "Enter master password" requester.

This is annoying as I have a few pages which I access very frequently password locked. It is annoying when I get to them - even tried reloading the page, if that will bring up the requester. It doesn't - FF won't/can't log in for me.

I've often seen a master password prompt open in a different window from where it is needed. If you aren't prompted at startup, especially if you are restoring a previous session, check the active tabs on all of your windows to see if it is in an unexpected place.

You also could try to trigger the prompt by opening

menu button > Logins and Passwords

but that shouldn't really be necessary if you are (re)loading a page with a saved login.

Yeah, and I should know about restored sessions.

I'm on Ubuntu and the requester pops up in front of all other screens.

So there is little chance of that happening sorry.

I am sure I have been there, but when I do that all I get is a new tab with the security settings listed. Not so much as a prompt for the master password.
