Criss-crossing email content error
In TB occasionally when I open an incoming email to read it, the content doesn't belong to that email subject line but to an entirely different email. It's like the emails are criss-crossing content. When this happens, I lose the content of one of the criss-crossed emails. What do I do?

Hi Matt,
Thanks for previously helping me with this issue. I haven't used your advice yet because I haven't had any crisscrossed emails since I first wrote you. But tonight I did.
When you told me to right click the folder the crisscrossed emails are in, I first assumed you meant to right click one of the crisscrossed emails. Tried that. It didn't work. No option for "Properties" appeared.
So I went to my Inbox folder, now assuming that's the folder you meant. I right clicked on it, and Properties appeared as an option, so I knew I was on the right track. However, when I went to click Repair, the box did not indicate that Repair was going to fix the specific crisscrossed emails.
So I assume that means Repair is going to "fix" ALL the emails in that folder. I have many important sub-folders under Inbox and am worried that if I click Repair, this will affect ALL these files/folders. I don't want to risk anything happening to these.
If I follow your advice could my concern materialize or will Repair just go after the crisscrossed email? How will Repair know to do this?

Right click the folder, select properties and then the repair button.
Hi Matt, thanks for your response. But I don't know which folder you're referring to that I should right-click on. Mary
The folder that contains the criss cross emails.

It only effects the folder you are repairing not the subfolders.
'Repair folder' means it repairs the index file which points to the emails, not the actual file containing emails.
Hi Matt,
Your advice on how to repair criss-crossed emails worked! I can't thank you enough for your time and knowledge. And for your "patience" too. Even though my original question led to my asking more questions until you could get me to the actual fix, you kindly stayed with my problem until I was successful. Now I won't lose the content of any criss-crossed emails anymore. Terrific help!
Gratefully, marywithaquestion
Hi Matt, I wrote you recently that your recommended fix for criss-crossed emails worked great and totally solved my problem. Thanks again. But today I found that this same fix also works for emails that present as computer gibberish, are missing content, or are otherwise internally faulty. What a great tool you've given me. Thanks again. marywithaquestion
Hi Matt,
You recently solved a problem I was having with criss-crossed emails. Thanks!
Can you help me with this problem:
On the email "Write" screen, is there a way to change the order of the options under "File"? "Save" and "Save As" are dangerously close to "Send Now." I want to avoid sending inadvertently. Why did TB developers put these items so close to each other?
Thanks in advance.
Mary
