This is getting old. Pinned tabs disappear and must be re-entered by hand. The Extension, Tabs Backup and Restore does not work

Why? I note there are over 2300 people who have reported this issue. The Extension, Tabs Backup and Restore looses saved sessions and replaces them with sessions with only a few tabs. 1. What can I do until someone fixes FF? 2. When it is going to be fixed? Is there an extension that works to restore pinned tabs?

I have now spent several hours re-pinning tabs.

Pinned tabs are considered history and when you use "Clear history when Firefox closes" to clear the Browsing History you lose pinned tabs (i.e. clearing history prevails in this case over keeping pinned tabs). Otherwise you should keep pinned tabs, but make you not to use the close X to close a window because in that case only the last closed window is restored (check History -> Recently Closed Windows in that case).

Use one of these to close Firefox if you are currently doing that by clicking the close X on the Firefox Title bar.

  • "3-bar" menu button -> Exit (Power button)
  • Windows: File -> Exit
  • Mac: Firefox -> Quit Firefox
  • Linux: File -> Quit
