I am able to open any website via FireFox except this one: https://www.healthybenefitsplus.com/AnthemBCBSOTC

But I CAN open this website via Internet Explorer

I get this error message:

"Secure Connection Failed

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading. The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified. Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem."

Why is FireFox unable to open this Anthem website?

I get the same thing.

There is security software like Avast, Kaspersky, BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connection certificates and send their own.

Thank you for your reply FredMcD, and for all of the links. I did find my issue discussed on this page https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/secure-connection-failed-firefox-did-not-connect#firefox:win7:fx66

But no solution was offered other than to contact the website owners....how in the world that could be done is beyond me.

This is a health related website associated with Anthem. Hard to imagine that many other people are unable to access it or else it would get fixed. Or maybe FireFox is just shifting blame. It's always someone else causing the problem, right ? I mean, the site does work in Internet Explorer.

It seems to me that FireFox should offer an option to have a security exception for specific websites that someone chooses to trust.

Sorry, current forum security sometimes delays the posting of messages. And in turn, we are not notified of those posts.

I don't want to be a complainer, but the way that posts don't show up immediately is confusing. It is very poorly implemented. I understand the reasons for it. But there should be a pop-up message that informs posters that their post will be reviewed by a moderator before appearing. The message is instead at the top of the screen and not readily visible. Having a pop-up that is clearly visible would help to avoid multiple posts like I have done above.

And if each post is reviewed by a mod before appearing in the thread, it seems that repeated posts could be eliminated as in this thread.

But thank you again FredMcD. None of the things mentioned above were caused by you. And I appreciate your efforts to assist.

And FYI in reference to your initial post, I am not running Avast or any other 3rd party protection software.

Is there any way to allow an exception to security protocols for one specific website? I looked through settings but could not find anything like that. You said that you were having a similar issue, did you ever find a solution for your issue?
