garbled text, Firefox for Android
Using Firefox for Android on new Samsung phone. Some text on web sites appears garbled, like some letters came loose and landed on others on that line. Sometimes turning the phone sideways fixes it, temporarily. Is there anything I can do?

Hi
If you open the Android Settings app, select Applications and find Firefox, you should be able to clear the cache (not data!) that should help resolve this issue.
I hope that this helps.
I tried that just now, and restarted. But it's still messing up.
Can you try a similar approach on the devices keyboard app. You may need to clear data, will reset the predictive text option.
Sorry, the problem is still happening, and I should probably have pointed out that I also get garbled text when I am reading other people's posts on a message board, and sometimes I get it when I am reading an article online.
On the good side, I think you may have helped me deal with an overactive autocorrect that prevents me from writing the name of a highway in the area. Thanks for that!
Okay, thanks. Are you are able to provide a screenshot of what is happening? I would like to show this to our developers and see if I can get an answer for you.
I'm not sure how I would go about sending a screen shot from this phone. The problem (and the complete lack of printed instructions for this new phone) has made it harder to learn how to use it. It seems like possibly a failure of the text to wrap properly? Letters sometimes pile up on top of other letters to the left of them, sometimes two or three words will be covered. It is not as bad with this newest update a few days ago, but it still happens some.
If you press the power button and the "-" volume/zoom button at the same time, a screenshot will be saved to your pictures.
I am unable to send the image, and unable to reach this question any way but going to my email and clicking on your answer. Not sure how to proceed from here. I seriously thought something would work.
If you view this page in Firefox for Android, there is a control under the reply box to attach a file from your device:
That's what I was trying to use. I just hadn't been able to separate the images from the emails (I emailed them to myself. Didn't go as planned. I'll try again, without trying to use the computer.
Have you changed the font size in your phone's "Accessibility Settings"? My guess is that some web sites do not work well with larger font sizes.
No, and most of the settings are still at the defaults. Problem happens even when text is quite small.
Are you using any add-ons?
Using it as-is & there are very few bookmarks.
What is the device, model reference and Android version?
Galaxy A71-5G Model # SM-A716U Android version 11
I will not be offended if you say take the thing back. They did not actually have 1st, 2nd, 3rd choices at store.
2 things. It is going to be difficult to replace this phone right now, much as I'd like to. Seasonal workload + home and garden + family stuff, and my job has taken over my home computer. I uninstalled Firefox and installed again. Using it as-is except for having tools at top of page. Still having problems. Is it possible that current Firefox for Android does not run well on new Samsung phone, or on this model?
Hi
Is this issue still happening further to the recent update to Firefox for Android from the Google Play store?
It still happens, just not as much.
