Recovering Deleted Profile/Bookmarks
I'm posting this again because I really need help! Also because I'm afraid I messed something up by replying to my own question. But I kept getting the "A copy of Firefox is already open" error, so I deleted one of the two profiles that I found. Apparently I chose the wrong one, and now all of my bookmarks are gone. I DID click something that said NOT to remove all my information (bookmarks, etc) so there must be a way to get it back, but how? I really only care about the bookmarks. Also want to mention that I'm on Mac, not Windows. I tried something called Recuva but I can't run .exe files on my Mac.

You can try to access the profile in the Finder.
- ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/
In Mac OS X v10.7 and later, the "~/Library" folder in the Home directory is a hidden folder.

You can use the Profile Manager to create a new profile and point to the profile that is no longer listed in the profile manager by using "Choose Folder".

Thank you; I tried this and was able to restore the deleted profile (I think), but even though it’s now set as my default I wasn’t able to load it up, and now I’m getting the “Firefox is already running” error again. I went back to delete the right profile this time but I’m still getting the error. Did I screw something up?
I’m trying to find the .parentlock file like other help pages say to do, but for some reason my Terminal commands aren’t working. I’m going to keep trying the commands and see if I can delete that file.

Thank you so much! I was able to get Firefox working again, and though I did get an error that the bookmarks and history system would not be functional, I restarted my computer and Firefox loaded as normal, with my bookmarks restored. Thanks again!
