Home page search bar always jumps to url address bar now under 89.0?>?????
Just installed/updated with 89.0 this morning and now whenever I am on the "home page" (when a new tab opens and displays the search bar in the middle of the page, followed by all "frequent pages") and whenever I attempt to enter a search I am immediately taken to the address bar, which I don't want. And then when I enter a search it assumes it is a URL and fails -- I can then only search if, after typing my search in the address bar, I must manually then go to the bottom of the recent address list and select the default search engine! THIS IS CRAP, and an UNWANTED CHANGE FORCED ON ME.
I searched online and repeatedly only found the "fix" of setting "keyw to disabled" but that makes NO CHANGE.
The new behavior makes any search I do require relatively much more effort on my part -- really sucks and changes my entire "way of life" as I am a very active/frequent searcher!
Is there a fix (besides the "keyw to disabled" which does not work?? How can I revert to the previous version that was just updated to 89.0?
Help appreciated! John

Yes it appears to have fully solved the problem. Thanks for great and prompt reply!
Add my vote to others to NOT exclusively place the search function in the address bar - keep allowing me to use the search bar on the Firefox home page!!!
