Lost Passwords after Restarting Firefox
There was a clear indication that simply resetting Firefox would save passwords while hopefully improving performance. BUT ALL LOCKWISE PASSWORDS AND LOGONS HAVE APPARENTLY BEEN LOST. There are online instructions to copy/paste all data in the Old Firefox Data fldr to the "new profile fld" in 'about:profiles'. But the lost passwords still do not appear. Can anyone explain:
(1) is it possible to recover lost passwords from Old Firefox Data ? (2) why this happened despite false re-assurance that passwords would not be lost ?
Thanx. Boiling Madman

In the event that the passwords information is lost, you should record all information in a separate text file somewhere else on your hard drive, or written down. You can easily copy and paste if you need to do so. If you are concerned about someone else looking at that file, you can compress it using a password.
Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; Old Firefox? Look inside. Look for the folder with the latest creation date.

logins.json and key3.db [v58+]key4.db : These are the password files. Copy Both !
