Is there a setting or an Add-On to keep logins of any site with login longer?

Hallo there, somebody knows how I could on my side the log out timeout of any website where I have a login some longer? I am using a forum (ubuntuforums.org) quite often and after only few minutes I am logged out, I have to login again. This is annoying. I would love to manipulate such logins so that the site thinks, I just logged in and does NOT log me out automatically after x minutes or seconds.

Is there such Add-On or setting? I guess its the expiration date of session cookies, isnt it that, where these log outs are calculated? Thanks for hints, I am on Firefox latest (119.0) on Windows and Ubuntu. frank

Usually a session only expires if there is no activity for a specific time, so you may only have to ping the website regularly.

Are you possibly using containers?

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or if userChrome.css/userContent.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the Default System theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Troubleshoot Mode start window

I was unclear: some websites with logins have settings, to keep the login for e.g. 24 hours. Or for 30 days, or for 1 hour at maximum. Many websites dont have such settings. And some are very restrictive about the time, I am allowed to stay logged in. This annoys me.

So I want to disable all auto-logout by all websites, I want to have a setting:

[x] Disable expiration of session cookies [x] Disable expiration of session cookies for this site only: ...................... etc.

Or an Add-On, e.g. "NeverLogout" or "CookieKeepAlive" or such.

Clear now? Possible or not? I have no issues with Firefox, I have problems with some sites, which wont allow long logins. Thanks.
