Hello! I'm running the current version of Firefox, and my MacOS is also up to date: 14.2. I'm building a website in Squarespace. On that website, I have a PDF link that, when clicked, will open in a new browser window, with an option to download. I've set that up in SQSP settings, but clicking the link only allows a download. Squarespace Support and myself were able to open the PDF in a new window in Chrome and Safari. Is there a setting in Firefox or something else that I'm missing that will allow opening the PDF in a new browser window? Thanks! Michael

Show the issue and provide a link so we can try to replicate.

Open the Network Monitor (Cmd+Opt+E), visit the PDF link and check the Response Headers. If you see Content-Disposition with value "attachment" then it is expected to download.

Does it still happen in a new profile without signing into sync? An easy way to test a new profile is to install Developer Edition and see if it happens there or refresh your existing profile.

Yo zero,

Thanks for this. However, when I opened the Network Monitor, I didn’t seen anything labeled “Response Headers.”

I’m not savvy at this code stuff, but can you point to where and how I might find that?

And when you say, “visit the PDF link,” what does that mean? It’s a button on the SQSP website where you link to your PDF and also can enable it to “Open in a new window.”

Also not sure what “a new profile” and “signing into sync” refers to. Pardon my lack of experience.

Many thanks for your help!

Michael
