2 Private window questions, please
I have two questions regarding the usage of a private window. I am using 126.0.1 on a mac desktop (and laptop) using 13.6.7 ventura. Long time user of firefox, but new to private windows.
1) I am using a popup blocker on firefox (UBlock Origin). Its icon shows on the browser window, but in a private window the icon disappears and I am getting popups. Do pop up blockers work in a private window? Is there a setting for that? 2) on my main browser Firefox home page I have 4 rows of shortcuts. On a private window home page there are none, and no settings icon to address this. Are shortcuts allowed on a private window home page and, if so, how to add?
Thanks

Extensions do not work by default in Private Browsing mode.
Note that containers like Firefox Multi-Account Containers do not work in PB mode.
You need to open about:home or about:newtab in a new Private Window as this window opens with it own about:privatebrowsing page.
The Library and the Home toolbar buttons are no longer present by default on the Navigation Toolbar, you need to drag them out of the Customize palette to the toolbar.
Thanks, Cor-El. Very helpful, but a followup question. When I enter "about:home" in the address bar in a private window it brings up what I wanted to add, so that's good. IN the upper right of the window the private window icon is still displayed, and I have all my links. TBC, this is still a private window even though it has all of mu shortcut icons, and opening the links will still be in a private window, correct?
Is there any way to create a shortcut for about:home, or must it be entered every time? Thanks again, very much john
Links you open in the same PB mode window are PB mode tabs.
You can use the toolbar Home button like I posted above or press "Option+Home".
