A few weeks ago I started having windows shut down issues ... sometimes my computer would freeze during shut-down and sometimes it would take 3 or more tries before it shut down successfully.

About that same time I noticed that Mozilla Firefox was having a bunch of javascript issues ... tried Internet Explorer and the sames websites/links would work fine. Mozilla Firefox usually won't launch now, unless I first end the firefox process in the Task Manager.

I am pretty clueless, but would a different version of Java or Firefox resolve my problems?

I have Firefox 3.6.13 and Vista.

Java has nothing to do with JavaScript - two different things.
