as an example: Say I wanted to go to a website of a particular place I would go to the address bar at the top and type in Union Mo Theater and press enter ... It would take me straight to WWW.great8cinema.com now with Firefox 4 it brings up a Google page...... this is the only reason why I use and recommend Firefox to my customers. there has to be a work around for this...please advise

That is actually Google, which is the location bars default search engine. When you enter a string into the urlbar that is not a url, Google decides if it should give you a search result or an I'm Feeling Lucky result. The later is what you were getting before.

Good thing is, once you've visited www.great8cinema.com, when you want to visit there again in the future, the awesomebar will find it. Try it, type in great8 or cinema. The page should appear in a list of matching pages you've visited in the past. Bookmark that page and it will be even more likely to rise to the top of the list.
