I have 3 homepages on Firefox, and they have been loading fine for the past few months. This morning when I opened Firefox, the tabs began to load but then froze. I had to end the process, restarted my computer and tried again. I had a couple successes in getting it to work: if I closed 2 of the tabs as soon as I opened Firefox it wouldn't freeze. But then I went to check my mail, and 2 minutes into it, it froze. I was able to get to the Firefox help page and started opening new tabs with different solutions on them..and it froze again.

Can you go to the Plugins Check page and see if the version of Flash and/or Shockwave For Director are old versions?

Wow I feel dumb. I did go to this page originally before I even made this thread, and I updated everything, but I didn't realize that I needed to change the settings to make sure it downloaded for other browsers and not IE. I never went back to double check and make sure everything was up to date after I downloaded it. So..just updated everything for Firefox and it works perfectly. Thanks so much to both of you guys for your help!

Okay..maybe I spoke too soon.

All my pulg-ins are up to date, I started cruising around on multiple flash sites, all was a-okay and then I opened a link and boom, it froze again.

This never ends..

Sorry to hear that. I think the best thing to do in the circumstances is to reinstall Firefox.

So go to Download Firefox 4.0 and download a fresh installation file to the desktop.

Then go to Add/Remove Programs, scroll down to Mozilla Firefox and remove it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc., (don't checkmark the box).

Then reboot and delete the folder called Mozilla Firefox at this location: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

Finally run the installation file you downloaded.

After you complete the installation, go to the plugins check page again just in case any of them have been updated in the meantime.

Okay, done and done; everything seems to be working fine now!

Thanks so much
