Browser history is not clearing on close, though I have that setting selected in Tools...Options...Privacy. How can I resolve?
I am getting problem during transit issues getting to my online banking site. My cookie settings are set to accept 3rd party cookies until I close firefox. In addition, I have the setting selected to clear history when firefox closed selected, with all options except Save Passwords and Site Preferences checked off.

The easiest thing to do would be to start a private browsing session. Either hit CTRL+SHIFT+P or click "Tools" and then select it from menu.
While Firefox is in private browsing mode, nothing is saved to disk; only held in memory until you close Firefox.
If clearing the cookies doesn't help then it is possible that the file cookies.sqlite that stores the cookies is corrupted.
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete cookies.sqlite-journal and cookies.txt, if they exist, in the Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.
