In the bookmark toolbar I have folders containing bookmarks. Within those folders, I have subfolders (of more bookmarks.) While clicking/hovering/navigating though these, if a subfolder extends outside the edge of the main firefox frame it does not 'cleanup' after itself if the mouse is moved away (no bookmarks selected). It corrupts the border of the window and the windows 7 desktop. Happens on both right and left side of the window. Dragging any open application window over the remaining text 'cleans it up'.

i can't duplicate that from your description.

If you have the "Stylish: extension try disabling that with its toolbar button, it fails you have a Style that is having a problem, not necessarily its own. If no problem or don't have the extension, try

Start in Firefox safe mode (one-time) which will disable all extensions temporarily and retest, If it works you have a problem with an extension.

Safe Mode: bring up in safe mode one time, when you do so do not check-mark any of the items (they are certainly not safe). Help ("Alt+H") > "Restart with Add-ons disabled". If there is not problem then it is almost certainly an extension.

Help (Alt+H) --> Restart with Add-ons disabled (this is Firefox Safe Mode -- Fx4 has made this easier)

If that works try to find the addon(s) that causes the problem.

  1. Disable half of extensions and restart Firefox. At this point you are no longer in Safe Mode and are testing extensions.
  2. If problem still occurs disable half of remaining extensions

otherwise if works enable half of those last disabled Then restart. and recheck at step 2.

I dont have any styles.

Interesting. In safe mode it works fine. If I restart back in normal mode, disable all plug-ins and extensions, restart, it still does it. Whats the difference between full safe mode and running w/ everything disabled?
