Whenever I turn off my PC or restart, all my tabs from last session are gone and am back at the homepage.

There is no restore previous session option at bottom. The "restore previous session" in History is greyed out. I have "Show my windows and tabs from last time" selected. The "Don't load tabs until selected" Option is not ticked. I have deleted the sessionstore files like some suggested.

I've scowered so many pages looking for an answer and no luck. Please help.

EDIT: I think the problem may be related to the fact whenever I shut down my PC the History is cleared from my PC.

Keep all the possible solutions coming. One's bound to work.

If you have security software (antivirus, firewall) installed, you can try deleting all existing instances of Firefox and related files in all the different configuration areas/modules of the security software. Instead create new allow/trusted rules for Firefox and its related processes. Even otherwise the security software may also ask again when Firefox is started and you can try to allow/trust at that time. Please see this.

Hi,

Please check if this happens in a new profile. If the new profile is okay, you can Reset Firefox on the old (previous) profile via Help (Alt + H) > Troubleshooting Information.

Do not use "Clear history when Firefox closes" to clear the "Browsing History".

Note that clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.

In the History Panel, It says "Firefox will:" + "Remember History". I now have used "Clear recent History" and "remove individual cookies" and that gave no results.

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

I already read this (and tried) in several other queries, It didn't help.

It seems whenever I shut down PC all my History is wiped clean. Maybe the problem is linked. (I tried adding this to main question by editing but it won't edit for some reason).

I found the problem. I checked all my "PC HEALTH" Applications and one of them was clearing up as much space from PC as possible by Deleting Temp files and Internet History on PC Start-up. Which is why it never ended sessions when I closed firefox or ended the process. Thank you all for the help, Everything is running normally again. I do wonder why t never did this with my previous version of Firefox and only started when i installed Firefox 13. Some mysteries go unexplained I guess.

Once again, Thank you all. Geomorpher
