I just finished setting up my new computer. I looked for my sync recovery key and could not find it. I did not want to lose all of the bookmarks I had but I went through the process of getting a new recovery key. A day or so after, I found the recovery key in my too structured backup (looked in wrong place and forgot what it was named). So my question is, is there a way to go back and reset the recovery key and data back from the old one?

No, once you create a new sync key then all existing data on the sync server is removed and new data is uploaded that has been encrypted with the new sync key.
It would have been better to create a new sync account with another (alternate) e-mail address if you think that you may find the old sync key, but do not want to wait to start using sync.
