Firefox for Android crashes on the Kindle Fire HD a second or two after starting. Is there a compatability problem with the Kindle Fire HD?

Loaded the latest version of Firefox for Android on the Kindle Fire HD & Installed. The program completed install successfully, but as soon as Firefox is started, within a few seconds the program exits.

Is there an issue with Firefox and Kindle Fire HD?

I do not want to use Chrome and the Kindle Silk browser is not very good. I have Firefox on all my machines (desktop, 2 laptops, Android phone, and (hopefully) Kindle) and want to be able to sync my bookmarks, etc. between all of them for consistent usage.

Yes, I loaded v19... and the problem is still there.

This is a known issue in Firefox 19 and lower. Firefox will function using Firefox 20 or better. It can be downloaded from http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mobile/releases/latest-beta/android/multi/ and will show up as Firefox Beta in your program list.
