my question is similar to earlier ones, BUT, I DO HAVE my old saved bookmarks file (nqa1hp6f.default). My old hard drive crashed, and now have new Firefox on new hard drive with Windows 7. The new firefox (Aug. 6, 2013) bookmark name seems to be (qlqx1k82.default), but not sure. Is there an easy way to put all my old bookmarks into the new firefox file?

hello, the nqa1hp6f.default location from your old harddrive likely refers to your whole profile folder and not just the bookmarks in it. inside the folder there should be a subdirectory labelled \bookmarksbackup with ten .json files in it.
in your new firefox go to firefox > bookmarks > show all bookmarks > import & backup > restore > choose file... and select the most recent backup from the folder mentioned above...

Thanks for the explanation. That worked. And it also helped me understand it all better. I see now how to export, import, restore, etc. And also how to move around the whole file, which now begins with YH115 ff -- 58
