RESET FIREFOX SETTINGS FROM "FIREFOX OLD-DATA" FOLDER
Hi First of all I wanna make myself populair by telling u that this is a messed up website! An example of this is: Pressing "Ask a question" takes me to a completely other topic where I CANT ask a .... question!
The thing I guess no1 will answer, due to my politeness in the first sentence, is HOW TO ... RESTORE THE "OLD FIREFOX-DATA"???? There´s NO information what so ever on this site how to do it.
I guess maybe 1 or 2 will give me the answer: "Just replace the profile folder!" or "Restore the settings back to default, cause thats the ONLY ... option Firefox has implemented in their menus", just to show me im an idiot! And I´ll reply in a impatient matter that THIS DOES NOT WORK!!!! Cant copy anything because the folder permissions are locked. And YES, I do have an Admin account + ownership + full privileges and NO fucking virus or software/hardware problem that most of the imbeciles that think they know something about computers always suggests!
So, instead of asking politely I´ll give u a challenge. If any1 of u is smart enough to know how to fix this ... problem and give me a "shut the ... up!" lesson, then ur worth it!

Thanks so much guys for answering despite my horrible attitude. I was in a very bad mood the other day. It´s a bad excuse I know, but for what it´s worth I apologize to you and to this forum!
jscher2000: The top level folder inside "Old-firefox data" was a random named profile folder with several folders and files inside it, like: -bookmarksbackups -extensions -healthreport -indexedDB -minidumps etc. And the exact warning text I got when I was trying to copy the data back to its original path was: "You dont currently have permission to access this folder"
But somehow I managed to solve the problem by renaming the new profile folder to the old name, delete the subfolders inside it (but not the files in the main profile folder). Then replacing all the new files from the old profile, and copied the subfolders. Yeah I know, its a really strange problem and solution. But it worked, so Im a happy camper.
Thanks again for answering!

What is in the top level of your Old Firefox Data folder: do you have one or more subfolders with partially randomized names (profile folders) or does it have content such as places.sqlite and folders such as bookmarkbackups?
Where did you get the error that folder permissions are locked? Is that the exact wording?

Be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem.
