I have three devices linked to my Sync account and just two of them seems to be merging information (passwords, bookmarks, ...) on the server.

My devices are:

1- iMac MacOS Mavericks with latest version of Firefox

2- Samsung Galaxy S3 with Latest version of Firefox for android KitKat 4.4.2

3- Desktop PC Windwos 7 with latest version of Firefox

Devices 1 and 2 are merging information to the server but device 3 (the Windows setup) is not merging any information with the other devices.

I have no idea about why not all the devices are syncing correctly but I will like to be able to sync all my devices.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

What gets deleted when you delete this folder? What preferences disappear?

Try to unlink the not working device and set up Sync again.

If it doesn't work the try to remove the Weave folder in the Firefox profile folder and delete the prefs.js file to reset all prefs and maybe also delete the compatibility.ini file to reinitialize the profile.

If this still doesn't work then create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem.

Thanks cor-el for this useful information, I just got back from holidays so was able to try this now. I will check if is syncing after I'm back home and will let you know if worked.

Thanks again!

Just checked at home and worked! Thanks so much!

This is what it worked for me:

All your preferences including your addons saved preferences. you keep your bookmarks, saved passwords and I think history.

You can also try to edit the prefs.js file and only remove services.sync lines in the file to see if that is enough.

Thanks for the replies.

The next question---would I have to do this on all my devices? If not, how do I choose which to do it with?

You know, it worked originally. That's how I got up and running on the new 8.1 computer. It imported all my settings and what not from the laptop.

So, finally, I deleted my sync account entirely. Reset everything up. That seemed to work! Thanks for the suggestions.
