Is there a folder for my history? I do a lot of research and clicking on a dropdown list is too cumbersome, especially with long lists

more options

In another brand browser, I used to be able to quickly access my history links in a convenient folder. Is this also available in the Mozilla Firefox browser?

Right now, if I need to go back and click on a link, from the drop-down list, the clicked link automatically shoots to the top of the list, forcing me to then go back through a long list to find the next link I might need, which is too cumbersome for me.

I do a lot of research and really need a better way to access my history or store it in a folder on my harddrive, flash drive, etc.

Thank you for any support anyone can offer.

I appreciate your attempt to help, Harish, but I only saw information for Windows XP, which I do not have. I apologize for not specifying that I actually use Windows 7, and any other guidance you can offer would be most appreciated.

The history and bookmarks are stored in the places.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder.

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

I was able to find the cache files, except the fourth one reads "cache_MAP". I cannot open any of them, though as I am prompted for a program to use for this, but am not sure which to use.

I know you are trying, so please do not stress out over this and thank you, regardless.
