I have a shared WiFi internet connection with 54.0 Mbps speed. Internet speed is good but Firefox installer downloads Firefox at very slow speed. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes in downloading Firefox. Please fix the problem if it is occurring through your end, else do tell me what can I do to get it better. Thank you.

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

Does it work faster with this direct link to the Mozilla CDN site?

Yes, thanks. Direct download link of 24MB setup file of firefox stable versions should be made available at www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/‎ alongwith 276K installer file.

valasudurai, you should start a new thread as this thread was about installing Firefox. The stub installer needs a internet connection while the full setup can be installed offline.

valasudurai, I am saying your questions is not related to this thread. This thread was about problems in installing Firefox with stub installer and NOT about the download manager in Firefox.

I would split your posts off to be a new thread but this forum does not have that feature.

Please start a new thread https://support.mozilla.org/questions/new/desktop

I have Microsoft Security Essential installed in my computer.

valasudurai, fdm downloads a file from several connections and later it appends all downloaded parts into one file. Therefore, it downloads a file in less time. It is controlled by servers of fdm. On the other hand, when firefox setup is downloaded by its installer ( Stub ) it is downloaded from server of Mozilla Firefox over a single connection, it does not download several parts in parallel or simultaneously. Therefore, it is downloaded at a slower rate.
