Hi, I had to revert from ver29 back to ver 28 because of corruption of resume file when the system goes to sleep.

First, I found that my Firefox had updated without permission,

Second, The symptoms are a failure of the resume after sleeping. It goes through the splash screen and does not get to the password screen. Then I get a black screen and a blinking cursor in the upper left corner of the screen. It then sits there until I reboot the system and it gives me the option of trying to resume again or delete the resume file. If I try to resume again, the same process occurs again. If I delete the resume file, then it boots normally.

Hi, The update for 29.01 was an update that would happen to users who have auto update turned on. However I see you are on version 28. To change these settings go to Options/Preferences > Advanced > Updates.

The second issue, is it a failure of Firefox to resume after the computer has gone in to Hibernation mode? or Sleep mode? What resume file are you talking about?

Is it the resume download file? http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=6333845 I look forward to your reply to help clarify.

Hi,

Resuming is a function that is caused by waking up the system after it sleeps. This happens by either 1) deliberately putting the system to sleep from the start menu, or 2) letting the power saving functions time out and causing the system to go into its hibernate mode. The system copy's the current memory state to disk and when the resume function activates, the system transfers the data from the disk back to main memory and this file is referred to as the resume file.

It saves a lot of time as all running programs are still running after a successful resume and I do not have to restart anything or reload any other data files.
