A lot of people have this problem, so did i.

It only happened if i was logged on as an user (on multiple computers), thus the administrator user account didn't had any problems.

After multiple months of frustration and browsing the internet for a solution i was at the point of try to change each setting in Firefox and see if it would work, if not set it back. Luckily my first educated guess was the correct one! :)

What worked for me was to set the 'dom.ipc.plugins.flash.subprocess.crashreporter.enabled' to false in about:config

1. Thus type in your browser the next url: about:config 2. Click the button: 'I'll be carefull, I promise!' 3. type in the new searchbar: 'dom.ipc.plugins.flash.subprocess.crashreporter.enabled' 4. double click on the preference to set it to false. 5. close the tab in Firefox 6. close (all instances of) Firefox 7. start Firefox 8. happy surfing :)

For those that have this issue, its the video card driver conflict with firefox engine; adobe flash itself has no problem. i have tried so many method to repair this issue, but non of it worked. So one night with frustration, i downloaded a display driver uninstaller from Guru3D, you can find it here: http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html what this application does is it scan through your system and wipe all the existing video card driver to a state where your video display becomes crappy that everything is huge. After that, i restarted PC, and let windows 7 install the driver found from Windows Update. Look what happen, everything worked. no more freeze, no more flash crash issue. I have tested for for weeks, nothing happen as of today. Flawless~

Well, please let me know if this works for everyone.

NOTE: build-in driver uninstaller will NOT work. Don't even try to use it. Manufacture's uninstaller will always leave something in your system.

papalin, there are a number of fixes listed in the above article, including Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL. Thanks for posting your solution.

FredMcD, there is no single fix. papalin posted his solution, which involved uninstalling and then updating his graphics display driver.

The thread owner ITryToHelp posted his workaround, to set dom.ipc.plugins.flash.subprocess.crashreporter.enabled to "false" in about:config. Another user suggested this before in /questions/936725#answer-369820. I would not recommend this to everyone without knowing what other effects this might have. Bug 790368 (mentioned by ideato) was resolved "Invalid" since the bug reporter wrote in comment 16 that the issue was unrelated to Firefox.

Mozilla Support rules and guidelines say that posts in the Mozilla support forum must be either questions about the use of Firefox ..... or answers to those questions. ITryToHelp never asked a support question. I'm going to close this thread since this is not a discussion forum.
