I just upgraded to latest version of Firefox.

OLD version: I would click on "Bookmarks", click on "Show All Bookmarks", get the library, click on a SPECIFIC folder I created (i.e., "Personal"), go to the top right "Search" box, enter something (i.e., "Mortgage") and Firefox would search only that SPECIFIC folder and display the results.

NEW version (Rel 33.1): Click on "Bookmarks", click on "Show All Bookmarks", get the library, click on "Personal" folder, go to the top right "Search" box, enter "Mortgage", and It searches EVERY bookmark in the library. Instead of the few bookmarks I have in "Personal", I get dozens and dozens as it searches the entire library.

How do I get it to search only the folder I want and not every bookmark?

OS is Windows XP.

I filled a bug for this because I can reproduce this https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1100673

Unfortunately I do not have an eta on this being changed and am happy to find a work around. It might be too complicated, but in moz_bookmarks the bookmarks are stored in this table and have indexed numbers associated with the folder or parent of the bookmark. Let me know if you would like me to explain.

If you can think of a workaround let me know and I'll take a shot at at it. The explanation of how it works will not help me, but thanks.

Something else I just noticed with release 33.1:

OLD version: Example: reading an article in the NY Times and you want to save it in folder called "Travel". You click on the "Bookmarks" drop-down, see and click on "Save this Bookmark". When you do, the bookmark is not yet saved, Moz first shows you where the bookmark is going to be stored - and your folder options if you want it some other place. You click on the "travel" folder and the destination location will change to "Travel". Click "save". Done.

NEW (33.1) version: Same scenario but when you click on the "Bookmarks" drop-down there is no "Save" option. To save with 33.1, you now have to click on the blue star in the upper right. When you do it never presents you the option of selecting the destination folder, it just saves it among the masses of other bookmarks. To ultimately put it into "Travel" (where you won't be able to search for it!), you have to do an extra step; hit <Ctl+D> to edit and select the right folder.

Those are some unnecessary clicks and overhead.
