How do I upgrade multiple profiles to new Firefox Sync?

more options

I have separate "home" and "work" Firefox profiles which are currently synced in "old Sync"; each with a distinct recovery key. This allows me to sync only work-related bookmarks onto a new company workstation.

How do I maintain this separation when upgrading to new Firefox Sync? In step 3 of the instructions (Create a Firefox account) do I need to create a separate Firefox account for each profile? Or can I manage and sync multiple profiles from a single Firefox account.

As far as I know, you will need to create a separate Firefox account for each profile.

Firefox 28 was the last version with "old" Sync; Firefox 29 and later use the new version of Sync. You can "upgrade" your current Sync accounts, no need to create new Sync accounts. See this KB article - Sync your Firefox bookmarks, history, passwords and more
