Hey folks! I have a little problem with my ff tabs. I will try to describe it quickly. I know that ff can restore previous session after closing, but i have more complicated problem. Sometimes im using FF without restoring previous session and i will let it there and click on it before i close FF. My problem is, that on the last step, before restoring previous session i got BSOD and my session is gone. is any way how to restore that session? right after that i completely backuped my roaming ff folder. thx for help :)

To use a copy of a session file in the sessionstore-backups folder you need to copy this file to the main profile folder and rename it to sessionstore.js to replace the current sessionstore.js file.

You would have to backup the sessionstore.js file in the Firefox profile folder before opening Firefox if you do not want to restore the previous session.

You can backup the session files in the sessionstore-backups folder in the Firefox Profile Folder to make sure not to lose valuable session data.

previous.js (cleanBackup: copy of sessionstore.js from previous session that was loaded successfully)
recovery.js (latest version of the sessionstore written during runtime)
recovery.bak (previous version of the sessionstore written during runtime)
upgrade.js-<build_id> (backup created during an upgrade of Firefox)

hey cor-el, thanks for your reply.

Yes, i backuped whole mozila profile folder right after i logged into windows... I think, that my session is still saved in

  • Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\profile_name\sessionstore-backups

files: previous.js recovery.bak recovery.js

i tried to overwrite these files to the folder and open ff, but somehow, it is trying to restore session i made lately. i tried this even if ff is opened. even copy and pasting the whole content of profile folder didnt worked.
