cannot load Yahoo messenger no matter how I try?

I have Yahoo mail & yahoo messenger as a seperate load item in my start menu.I have tried every which way to get it to add on,or load with Mozilla Firefox,but apart from having the "groovy notes" & that infernally stupid & obstructive background picture,for Yahoo mail,nothing will show on Mozilla, about Messenger or attempt to load? Should I resign myself to always load YM seperately?

Roydavid, I am actually not sure because I do not use the extensions that you have installed. Do disabling this contribute to the loss of functionality in the Yahoo website?
