unable to restore bookmarks
I updated my Firefox from a extremely old system (most likely V. 25 or something) and I updated it recently to v. 61. However, in the process my bookmarks have disappeared. The files are corrupted and show the "unable to process backup folders" (or something to that regard). I have tried to manually restore my back ups and that does not work either. I don't know where to go from here.

Separate Security Issue, please update your Flash 28.0 r0 by removing it with this tool : https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html If you use it Reinstall with Flash Player Version: 30.0.0.134 Current Version https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>
HI, that is too bad when that happens, it is more than possible they are lost.

Bookmarks are in below in the Profile :
- bookmarks and history: places.sqlite
- bookmark backups: compressed .jsonlz4 JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder
Fyi for the future :
Thank for the information. If I have the back up files from before the update but they are corrupted is there a way to restore them?
Hi, no not unless you can get something out of the places they are stored. If are in HTML drag it into a browser tab and see what is salvageable. If is in compressed java then your out of luck unless : If a jsonlz4 backup can't be imported restored because it has the same structural problem as the database, a user can try to fix it using the Check/Repair JSON button on this page:
Saving/backing up in both ways is good but as HTML you can at least do the above or shove it into a HTML Editor.
That going back and forth messed with them.
Hi almills425, if you haven't already, could you quickly make a safe backup of all your bookmark backup files? If Firefox comes across such old files in its regular folder, it might delete them.
HI jscher2000, how would I make a safe file of the bookmarks if they are all corrupted?

I meant your older .json or .jsonlz4 backup files. If they are in your active profile in the bookmarkbackups folder, Firefox will cycle them out.
Thank you all so much! I found a back up which I can place in the website above (https://www.jeffersonscher.com/res/bookbackreader.html) ad I can click links off of that to re-do all my bookmarks. I will strive to back up my bookmarks more often and save them in HTML files. Thank You All.
