Any email I've tried sending today is not going through and I get the message listed below after Thunderbird stops trying to send it. I've retried and even tried writing to different email address. All produce the same message.

Up to this morning I've not had any problems sending emails.

How do I resolve this? Thank you.

Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.verizon.net was lost in the middle of the transaction. Try again.

How are you accessing your @verizon.net mailbox; via AOL Mail, Yahoo Mail or some other email provider? You need to use the mail server settings for the provider you now use, the old verizon mail servers are no longer running. Also, make sure you configure Tbird to use your full email address (include the @verizon.net part) as the User Name for both incoming and outgoing server authentication.
