Every time I try to send an email, Thunderbird crashes and has to restart. I am on a SMTP email account. I also noticed that my side bar writing is now in black.

Is Thunderbird Crash reporter enabled?

  • Menu app icon > Options
  • Select: 'Privacy & Security'
  • scroll down to 'Thunderbird Data Collection and Use'
  • Select checkbox: 'Allow Thunderbird to send backlogged crash reports on your behalf'

Then send email so Thunderbird crashes.

In Thunderbird Help > Troubleshooting Information Scroll down to 'Crash Reports' section Please post the 'Crash Report ID's' - The numbers should begin with bp- Copy the number and paste it into this question in forum.
