I want to use NetNewsWire as my RSS reader, but when I click the RSS button on my Safari web browser, it opens Thunderbird instead of NetNewsWire.

I de-activated the RSS account I'd set up on Thunderbird but clicking the RSS button on Safari still opens Thunderbird.

How can I de-link Thunderbird from Safari so I can use NetNewsWire instead?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

How do I set NewsWire as my default RSS reader?

I looked around in System Preferences but can't find any way to set the default reader. Default browser, yes; default RSS reader, no.

Grateful for more guidance!

This is not a support forum for your operating system or safari.

Google given me many results for changing the default RSS feed reader in both safari and macos. I suggest you use google to find an answer to your question as I have never used any of the current apple operating systems to be able to ecaluate what is current and what is ancient.

This one for safari 6 stuck out to me. https://www.macworld.com/article/219256/changing-safari-6s-default-rss-reader.html.
