Router issue only on Firefox
When I log into my router on Firefox it indicates that it is not connected to the internet when in fact it is. I can log into my router from Microsoft Edge and it does show that my router is online. What could be the problem? My router is a Linksys EA3500, which is about 8-10 yrs old and the firmware is up to date. The only problem that I know of for sure is that I can't do a speed test through my router. I am able to connect to all websites except one and I don't know if that is related to this problem. The only website I can't connect to is after I try to sign in to www.consumerreports.org. I have been dealing with this problem for months trying to figure it out. They say java has to be enabled. Please help me. I've been connecting to Consumer Reports for years with no problems. I have done troubleshooting with them, Xfinity, and Linksys, but can't figure this out. Even though while on Microsoft Edge it said my router was online, I still could not connect to www.consumerreports.org. Consumer Reports says that you can't use a VPN on their site and I do have one, but don't use it while logging into their site.

Yes, I tried disabling all addons and I even tried booting to safe mode, but still get the same results when logging into my router in Firefox. It shows "no internet connection". When I access www.consumerreports.org and then enter my password to login I get this message: "This service is temporarily unavailable, please try again later. In the meantime, please visit our homepage."
This has been going on for a couple of months and I don't have any problems with any other sites. Also, I have talked to Consumer Reports support and they say their site is functioning properly.
I uninstalled and re-installed Firefox, went back and disabled all my addons, cleared my cookies and web cache as well as perform a disk cleanup on C: drive. I had a troubleshooter at Linksys to check my router and he could not find any problems. I spoke with someone at Xfinity, who could not find any problems. Unless you or someone else has had a revelation, I don't know what else it could be other than my account with Consumer Reports is corrupt. I have sent them an email asking them to reset my account or tell me how I can do it. Like I said, Consumer Reports is the only login I have trouble with and I have tried logging in from my wife's computer, my cell phone using a cell signal, and my work computer, which uses Chrome. I do also still have the problem with my router showing that I'm offline when I'm not, but that could be a different issue. I will respond when I hear back from Consumer Reports and try what they recommend about resetting my account.

No modern web browser supports Java Plugin anymore except maybe IE ?

I don't use java that I know of. I don't have a java plugin installed. I was under the impression Firefox did away with java years ago. Consumer Reports are the ones that said it has to be enabled for their website, but I thought FF used some kind of work around instead. Anyway, I called CR and asked them to re-set my account because I've tried everything else and I thought my account must be corrupt. This time they basically told me that you have to use Chrome to login and use their website. I don't use Chrome and will not use Chrome, I don't trust Google. So, I cancelled my online subscription and the magazine. That problem is solved, but I still get this message when I log into my router indicating that it is not connected to the Internet. That could be due to the age of my router, 8-10 yrs. Anyway, I appreciate the help.
