Cannot sign in to thunderbird

Hello, I have had issues connecting gmail to Thunderbird, I have set the correct gmail smtp settings and when i press 'done' it just gets stuck on 'password ok' and nothing happens. I have 2fa on and am using the generated app password and I have tried 0AUTH2 and Normal Password authentication method options, I am running Thunderbird as Administrator, have added an exception to windows firewall and have no antivirus installed (except the one built into windows).

Would appreciate any help. Thanks.
