In 'Account Settings,' I have my gmail-address listed. I only want my OWL connection to my outlook account. I suspect that having both explains why I have two inboxes and multiple Local Folders with messages ending up anywhere. How could I streamline my Thunderbird account again?

I only want the connection to my Outlook email address.

I tried deleting the gmail link without success.

With thanks for your help, Ulrike

Are you saying you want to delete the Gmail account in Thunderbird?

If so, first of all make sure to backup any mail you want to keep currently stored in the Gmail account.

Press Alt or F10 in case the menu bar is hidden. From the main menu bar: Tools - Account Settings Select the account to be deleted in the left pane. Select 'Remove Account' from the 'Account Action' drop-down menu at the bottom.

Thank you so much, christ1, I got rid of the Gmail account as an entirely separate online existence.

I am still puzzled about having two Local Folders and Inbox(es). I tried to get rid of the first one but was not able to work out how. It looks harmless on the screenshot but I can trip up by emails getting into the wrong Inbox.

However, life is much improved already, thank you again, Ulrike
