Bleed between private browse and main?

This just started happening. I'll close Firefox and then open a new private window. If I minimize the private window, then open a new normal window, it restores my previous session/tabs. Very strange. "Restore previous session" option turned off. I even turned it on, closed/reopened, and back off to test. I am using the latest version of Firefox.

It doesn't sound like there is any bleeding if the private tabs remain private.

The last session will be restored if the browser crashes or is left open while shutting down Windows. You can disable this by changing browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash and toolkit.winRegisterApplicationRestart to false in about:config.

But are they private? Something. whether a bug or virus, is allowing private browse to influence the main program.

Disabling the normal function of the program might be a workaround. Would rather leave it as intended and find a solution to the actual problem.

Thank you for your response.

Can you recover any browsing done in a private window after closing all private windows?

That isn't the issue I'm seeking help with. My worry is programs or sites in private browse being able to access areas they shouldn't be able to.
