turn off dark mode
no matter what i do, every website is now dark. I want it turned off and it won't. Since this can't be turned off, how do i switch all my bookmarks to another browser? Chrome, yahoo, etc all of those don't have the dark background

You can check the Website Appearance setting.
- Settings -> General -> Language and Appearance -> Website Appearance
Are you possibly using a theme that has a light text color in the user interface?
You can look for a theme that has dark text on the tabs (toolbars) if you currently use a theme with light text to prevent Firefox from using a dark background.
After doing what Co-rel suggests click Extensions & Themes and enable the Light one, see screenshot below.
To export your bookmarks click the three horizontal lines at the top right and then Bookmarks followed by Manage Bookmarks, which is right at the bottom of the list. At the top of the next screen is Import and Backup. Click that then Export Bookmarks to HTML. That will produce a file that other browsers can import. Even if you stick with Firefox this is worth doing periodically so you've got a backup if anything goes wrong.
The theme I use is called "Activist — Balanced" and I've never been subjected to the coal-mine look.
